Free to park, and the electricity is metered. That split is the normal German arrangement: standing costs nothing, the machine charges for what you fill and empty. Carry 1 and 2 euro coins, because plenty of these machines still take nothing else.

This is a Wohnmobilstellplatz, a spot set aside for motorhomes to park, run by Stadt Ahaus. The record gives 8 spaces, so it is big enough that you are unlikely to be turned away outside peak weekends.

The posted limit is 3 days. German Gemeinden do enforce these, usually with a Parkscheibe, the blue parking disc you set to your arrival time and leave on the dashboard.
