What it is like to arrive here.

A municipal área de autocaravanas, a motorhome stopover the town has set aside, at Núcleo urbano de Taramundi, detrás del polideportivo municipal, in the concejo of Taramundi. Ayuntamiento de Taramundi publishes the área but not a price for it. Small Asturian áreas are commonly free with a coin meter on the services, so bring coins and read the machine rather than assuming either way.

Neither a capacity nor a stay limit is published for this one. Asturian áreas are mostly small, often under ten bays, so treat it as a stop rather than a base and read the sign at the entrance for the limit.

The council does not list what is on the ground here, so arrive self-sufficient: full water, empty tanks, and no assumption that there is a tap.

The council says the concejo has two áreas with services, this one behind the sports hall and a second at the Parque de Empresas 1km out, and publishes nothing else about either.

Asturias is one of the comunidades autónomas that wrote the boundary into its own law: Decreto 61/2022 regulates áreas especiales de acogida de autocaravanas en tránsito as a class of tourism facility. What you may do on the street is still the ayuntamiento’s business through its ordenanza municipal, so use the área, keep everything inside the vehicle, and take the posted sign as the version that counts.
