What we collect, which is very little.
This is a reference site. There is no account to create, no form to fill in, and nothing to sign up for. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number or email in order to use it.

FreeCampMaps (freecampmaps.com) is published by Lucky Future LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801. This policy covers what we collect when you read the site, and what we do with it.
What we collect
Nothing you type. The site has no contact forms, no sign-up forms, and no logins. There is nothing on the site that sends what you type back to us.
Standard server logs. Our host records the usual request data (IP address, user agent, page requested, timestamp) to serve pages and defend against abuse.
Your answer, and how to change it. We record it in your browser's
local storage under fcm.consent.v1, on this site only. It holds just
the word granted or denied and the date you chose, never a name or an identifier
for you, and it is never sent anywhere. We treat it as valid for six months and
then ask again. Change or withdraw it any time with the
Cookie choices link in the footer, which reopens
the same two buttons. Withdrawing is one click, exactly like agreeing. Clearing
your browser storage also erases it.
Advertising cookies: none, as of the date above. FreeCampMaps is supported by display ads, but no ad network is running yet and no advertising cookie is being set. Ad networks commonly set cookies or similar identifiers to measure and target ads. Before any of that starts, this policy will name the network, describe your choices, and you will be asked to consent.
Nothing loads before you answer. The notice is not a formality shown after the fact. Analytics is wired so it cannot start until there is an explicit yes, including the part that would normally begin the moment you scroll. Saying no is a real no, and it is one click in the same place as the yes.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you ourselves.
- We do not send marketing email. There is no mailing list.
- We do not share your data with data brokers or partners. We do not run that kind of business.
Links off the site
We link out constantly: to communes, Gemeinden, comuni and municipalities, to national and regional agencies, to access authorities, and to the open data sources our place records come from. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy, not ours. We earn nothing from any outbound link on this site; see the advertiser disclosure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information a business holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it is used, or to opt out of its sale or sharing. Readers in the UK and the EU have these rights under the UK GDPR and the GDPR; readers in several US states have similar rights under state law.
Because we do not collect personal information from you and do not sell data, there is usually nothing for us to look up or delete. You are welcome to ask anyway. Write to [email protected] and we will answer.
Children
This site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Where we are and where you are
The publisher is a US company and the site is served from a global content network, so the pages you read may be delivered from a server near you while the people running the site are not. The content covers Europe and the United States and is written in English for readers in the UK, the US, Australia, Canada and anywhere else.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will change this page and update the date at the top. The meaningful changes to watch for are the analytics and advertising sections above.
